with a 2 pronged approach being taken with the Charity’s we will be supporting this year.
with a 2 pronged approach being taken with the Charity’s we will be supporting this year.
The first charity is Movember, where we will be looking to register as many players as possible
to grow a ‘Mo’ for the month of November to support Men’s Health.
For those that aren’t aware, the idea is to get family and friends to sponsor you to grow a ‘Mo’.
To kickstart this charity donation we had $275 from the Royal Melbourne round earlier this year,
donated by Alf Hodges and purchased by Jarrod Drew. Thanks Jarrod.
At the half way checkpoint we had raised over $4,000 with Sir Alf Hodges leading the way.
Ryan Gurr was judged the best Mo at this point for his impression of a pirate.
By the end of Movember this had grown to a whopping
$9,098.00
with Sir Alf Hodges the lead fundraiser.
If you want to check out who was involved the list is below:

The second charity is Knoxbrooke, which offers a range of
Programs and Opportunities designed to enhance independence and maximize quality of life.
Knoxbrooke are currently looking to raise $66,000 to purchase a community bus.
So far they have received donations of $7,000 from Toyota, and $30,000 from a Federal Government Grant,
with the Community to raise the remaining $29,000
To kick-start this charity donation we received $100 from Ritchie Lakey,
who sold his GPS watch won in last year’s Xmas Raffle to Denis Argoon,
and then donated the takings back to the Club. Thanks Ritchie.
Through a number of initiatives on the day we were able to raise a whopping $1,657.50 for Knoxbrooke,
with a breakdown of how it was done below:
